The independent release of Craig Cutoffs' debut album is 14 songs of original material. Although he is known to "pull your leg" with his improve comedy antics... Craig has decided to focus on "tugging the heart strings" with his music.

Produced by Mike Do and Kotfas,"best case scenario" was recorded at THE DOW COMPOUND in Austin over a span of a few years. YES, years. Recording sessions occurred when both schedules were open. What was originally gonna be a solo (just man & guitar) album, soon became more when an upright bass was added, then a fiddle, then drums, piano, then it became an elaborate puzzle pieced together. Soon an arsenal of his musically talented friends became a part of this ever growing project.

There are songs on the final cut that didn't exist when the project started, but they eventually came and bumped others off. Then there's the sequencing. Which tells a story. "It wasn't my original intention.. but it soon became obvious, and made absolute sense to me" said Craig. If you've been in a relationship then you may relate to this album. Song 1 is like "Boy meets girl". Song 2 "Boy & Girl hit it off." Song 3 "They drawn line and decide to be friends" but the next few tracks we see the line is crossed and soon the relationship blossoms. But like many loves, nothing is forever.. or is it?

Tracks 1 through 13 tell the story of love... while track 14 ("Kittyhawk") is more of a bonus track. That song is a guess of what went through Orville & Wilbur Wright's mind the day they took that first flight in Carolina. (The flight occurred on Dec. 17th, 1904, exactly 72 years before Craig's birthday, also Dec 17th.) The chorus which exclaims "Let's get this bitch off the ground" captures the frustration and determination they may have felt. Craig also adds "This song was Mike's (co-producer) favorite, and he really thought it should stay," and so it did.

The title of the album comes from a lyric on track 9 called East Coast. "I was at my old house and I was walking to my room, and on the counter was some books that belonged to my roommate Jeremy. The books were survival guides called WORST CASE SCENARIO and they'd teach you how to survive a runaway camel and oddities like that. I immediately wrote the East Coast about a runaway heart where the last last line of the song states 'and best case scenario, I'll get an album's worth of material waiting for my heart to return.' Soon it dawned on me that the CD I was recording could indeed be that exact 'album's worth of material' that I was referring to. It just seemed to fall into place."

The musical contributors were many, and very gracious with their time and talent.
